Engineer at Uniserve Communications. I build service provider networks, the datacenters they live in, and the automation that keeps me from doing the same thing twice.

01 — Networks

Carrier core, end to end

A Cisco MPLS core linking geo-diverse datacenters, autonomous system 33044 and every BGP peering session on it, plus a 1000 km² fixed wireless network built from the tower up.

02 — Infrastructure

Datacenters and the DR behind them

Builds, fiber termination, virtualization on every major on-prem and cloud platform, and a multi-site disaster recovery design running over VPLS. One of those rebuilds followed a customer’s building fire.

03 — Automation & AI

Software where the toil was

Laravel applications for employee onboarding, router failover and DR failover, custom integrations between internal systems, and a growing pile of local LLM experiments.

Mission & values

Five things I keep coming back to,
whether the work is a core router
or a weekend side project.

My work sits where network automation, datacenter infrastructure and AI meet: designing systems that cost less to run than the ones they replace, and sharing what I learn along the way through mentorship and plain documentation.

Innovation
Explore new ideas, experiment with the cutting edge, keep improving what already works.
Collaboration
Teamwork, openness and mutual respect, at work and everywhere else.
Autonomy
Decisions made on objective grounds, not on pressure or bias.
Learning
Lifelong, and non-negotiable in an industry that reinvents itself every few years.
Communication
Clear, concise and readable by every stakeholder, not just the network people.

Now

Updated when I remember to.

Building
Automations and dashboards, a lot of them, on self-hosted inference with vLLM and llama.cpp.
Shipping
Riverbot is available for iPhone and Apple Watch on the App Store. ipacl.net is coming to the app stores soon.
Off the clock
Steelhead through the winter, carp on the fly all summer, and two dogs (Finn and Ollie) who get a vote on both.

Get in touch

Happy to talk networks, datacenter design, automation, or where the steelhead are running. The contact form at tPnet reaches me.
